Tutti Frutti Giant Slab

This Tutti Frutti Giant Slab from Hotel Chocolat is basically half a kilo of sweet summer fun! I’ve got some other summer chocolates from Hotel Chocolat lined up to review, but with the weather being so poor I’ve held off. But I can wait no longer, this giant chocolate slab has been staring at me for a few days, so here goes …

When you order this and finally get it through the post you’ll be amazed actually how bit it is. It’s got to be a good foot long at least. The colours will stand out but not nearly as much as the sweet fruity aroma that emanates from it as you open the packaging. If the weather is naff as it is now, it’ll give you a few minutes of summer fun that will whisk away those dreary moments you get as you trudge home from work in the rain.

Another feature I love of the Tutti Frutti Giant Slab is its schizophrenic flavours. In mine the white chocolate half was studdied with raisens and hte milk chocolate part had pistachios in – its supposed to have cherries in too. But I either couldn’t taste them as I gorged myself on it or it was lost in the flavour of the chocolate. It’s no loss as the slab was a fantastic treat.

My serving suggestion would be, a sunny weekend with some friends sat round in the garden with some gin and tonic and a slab of this you’ll all break bits off together.

You could say that its expensive at £11.75, but its actually good value of money as if you say to everyone that they should bring the drinks and you’ll bring the chocolate you could save yourself a small fortune as this bar would easily satisfy a group of eight or ten of you.

Rating:
Taste: 70% – nothing that will blow your mind flavour-wise, but it was delicious and you’ll be fighting over your favourite bits.
Texture: 75% – the usual great chocolate from Hotel Chocolat with the raisons, cherries nad pistachio nuts in, you can’t go wrong.
Price: 65% – I’d want to pay less, but I am tight!
Overall: 70%
