I thought I haven’t reviewed Diabetic chocolates recently and seeing as I’ve got to get mother some diabetic wedding favours for my wedding, I thought I’d give these Diabetic Mint Truffles from Thorntons a go.
At £2.99 for a 115g back they’re not bad value really. Mint chocolate usually tastes very sweet, just think of After Eights – I don’t know how people can eat more than a couple in any night. But these chocolate mints are mild. To me the taste is very much comprimised due to the lack of sugar, but if you’re diabetic then you’re probably used to this.
But that all said, I’d pick these again if I wanted a chocolate fix other than traditional chocolate but wanted to avoid the overly sweet taste of much of the confectionary that is avaliable these days.
Rating:
Taste: 65% – not too bad, mild
Texture: 65% – a bit of a strange texture, but perfectly acceptable.
Appearance: 60% – the packaging is perfectly fine, but the individual chocolates are a bit uninspiring.
Nutritional Information: 70% – I must admit that Thorntons normally do a good job on this!
Price: 65% – I’d say they’re a touch over-priced.
Overall: 65% – I wouldn’t travel miles to buy them. But I would get them again.
