In the past I’ve not been very favourable towards Thorntons chocolate considering there are some fantastic chocolatiers out there. But that’s all changed with their fantastic “Thorntons Christmas Chocolate Selection” which gives you a huge box of 36 chocolates for only £5 – its just fantastic value for money! And something that should be snapped up as quickly as possible as the offer won’t last apparently.
These are only the second Christmas Chocolates I’ve reviewed so far and they’re fantastic, just like the Cadbury’s Snow Bites were, but these are so much better value.
The problem I’ve got with reviewing these Chrismtas chocolates is that I can’t possibly review all 13 of the different flavours. But the ones I’ve tried were fantastic. The first one I tried was the Lemon Parfait which was terrific and tasted very lemony.
I also tried the Layered Chocolate Classic which was a combination of their milk, white and dark chocolate which actually worked very well together.
After that I went for the Almond Marzipan which was, of course, very sweet indeed – but nontheless fantastic.
And then I went for the Honeycomb Crunch which wasn’t like a Crunchie bar as I anticipated, but more of a ganache with a honeycomb flavour.
Overall I feel these Thorntons Christmas Chocolates are absolutely fantastic value. They may not be as much of luxury chocolates as the Michel Cluizel 1ers Crus De Plantation which I was lucky enough to have the UK exclusive on, but for £5 they’d make a fantastic Christmas present for a wife, girlfriend, mother or even a secret santa present.
