Solen Wish Coconut Chocolate Bar
30 August 2009 in Chocolate Bars, Coconut, Turkey by LeeI feared that this Solen creation would head the same way as their Jacky Wafer Chocolate Bar, and I was broadly right.
The packaging looks interesting enough and signifies that you are, indeed, going to consume (or start to) a coconut chocolate bar. The bar comes in two parts, probably so you can eat one and give the other one away?
When you pull one part out of the wrapping it doesn’t look too appetising. And then as you chew it doesn’t actually taste too bad. Unforanately its the after taste that I didn’t quite like. It was very bitter and a touch harsh. I’m sure that many of you would be eating it fairly quickly and not waiting a couple of minutes after the first bite so you many not notice it as much – but I’ve just had the one bite and left it at that.
The texture is very granular as you’d expect and, from my recollection, no where near as smooth as the Bounty bar. I’d probably advise you to give it a miss if you see it on your holidays, or at least be prepared something not up to the usual coconut fair such as the Limited Edition Creamy Filled Coconut Chocolate Bar but its probably better than the Peter Paul Almond Joy which wasn’t nice at all!
Overall, without going into too much detail, I’ll probably give it around a 45%.
