Simon Coll 70% Dark Chocolate

I’d first like to say that this is perhaps the best 49p that I’ve ever spent. It’s said to say that a large part of my life revolves around me trying as much chocolate from around the world as possible and these 49p Simon Coll Mini Chocolate Bars are a fantastic way of doing it!

As well as this 70% dark chocolate bar I got a milk chocolate one which I’ll review later. But if its anything like this dark one then I’ll be very happy indeed. For me, chocolate that is anywhere between 70% and 85% gives me the most satisfaction and this bar has the perfect balance of the bitterness from the 70% cocoa content and the sugar which gives it a wonderfully rounded flavour. In fact, I feel I could eat this all night!

I’m now considering getting some flights over to Barcelona so I can visit his shop to get some bigger bars. If I can’t manage that then I’ll have to buy a bulk load of these mini bars!

Rating:
Taste: 90% – I just loved it, sweet and bitter at the same time
Texture: 90% – the click when I broke a piece off was superb
Price: 95% – 49p for 18g is excellent.
Overall: 91.66% – almost perfect

As a note, the chocolate is produced in Barcelona but the bean comes from Ghana.
