I just love dark chocolate and chilli it goes together like Sunday mornings and a cuppa in bed. And what I love about the Taste The Difference Mexican 66% Dark Chocolate With Chilli bar is that it tastes so fruity – only after the chocolate has melted in your mouth can you taste the chilli.
The packaging odesn’t make it look anything special, and only the non-obvious image of the chilli gives away what you’ll taste inside.
As the notion that I’m tasting chilli chocolate subsides, so does the excitement. There’s actually nothing overly special about the chocolate bar. The chilli is too week, the chocolate doesn’t know if its milk or dark and the whole experience is a bit of an anti-climax – unlike it was with wuth the Tipyn Bach bar from Wales, the Fruit and Spice bar from South Devon, or the fantastic bar from Hotel Chocolat.
Overall I can’t really give it a high score, unfortunately as I absolutely adored one of the other “Taste The Difference” bars in the form of the limited edition creamy filled coconut bar that was simply out of this world!
Rating:

Texture: 60% – a bit better than average
