Sometimes people shouldn’t mess around with chocolate and put it with stuff that just doesn’t go. I tried the Raspberry and Mint bar the other day and that was fine, but this Raspberry Choc Log from New Zealand is a chocolate FAIL if you ask me.
I can’t remember what those red shoe-lace type sweets were when I was a kid, but this choc log is basically a chocolate concoction covered in that red, sweet stuff. The only reason why I think anyone would like to try them is to just to have something different from the usual confectionery we get in this country.
The sad thing is, however, that is is a bit of a grower. Perhaps its because I’ve had a few days off chocolate, or if it’s because it just hits a spot that I didn’t know existed. But, its not actually as bad as I first thought.
I wouldn’t pay the hefty 89p that I did do in from Mr Simms in Bath, but if I was offered another one then I wouldn’t turn it down.
Overall I’d say that its just not worth the money, doesn’t really tantalise and would only get a score of 53%. But for a novelty factor then its worth giving it a go.
You can buy the Raspberry Choc Log from:
* Sanza – 89p
* Real Food Direct
* Candy Store With More
* Scottish Sweets
