I’m always willing to try something different and when I was on the Goodness Direct website I saw these Montezuma‘s Organic Milk Chocolate & Nutmeg Bars I just had to give them ago. I bought this one from there for £2.05 but you can also buy them direct from Montezuma’s for £2.29.
The packaging isn’t anything special, it certainly wouldn’t make me pick it off a supermarket shelf over many other gorgeous chocolate bars I’ve seen – especially the variety at Sainsbury’s. And when you get it out of the cardboard packaging you may well just be as disappointed as I was. The chocolate looks unappealing with small pieces and covered in placid cellophane. At that point I wasn’t enjoying the experience.
However, when you actually break off a piece, which will happen with a very load, crisp snap and actually take a bite you’ll be very pleasantly surprised. It has a very distinctive nutmeg flavour which is very appealing after three or four squares. After that it gets a bit much – which I suppose is a good dietary aid.
The aroma is just as sweet, although I’m sure it won’t put most of you off!
Rating:
Taste: 65% – very nice at first, but you can’t eat too much of it.
Texture: 65% – nothing really wrong with it, but you could tell there was a good amount of sugar in it.
Price: 70% – For something that’s organic and totally different from the norm’ it’s pretty good value.
Overall: 66.66%
