Montezuma’s Milk Chocolate With Chilli And Lime
12 May 2009 in Chilli Chocolate, Lime, Milk Chocolate, Montezumas, Rating 80%-84% by LeeThe Montezuma’s Milk Chocolate With Chilli And Lime is one of the most understated chocolate bars I’ve tried in the last few months. But it’s most certainly a “grower” as you may be expecting a chocolate bar with one heck of kick, but it actually turns out to be a chocolate chocolate bar that wraps its warm arms around you and then gently gets your drunk on Mojitos. It’s one that’s going to knock you out without you knowing about it. And before you read any more, buy it now!
The box is far from enticing, the look of the chocolate bar as you take it out of the box is just as unmoving. But this chocolate bar says: “judge me on how I taste, not how I look”. And that’s how it should be. It’s a chocolate bar that delivers far more than you expect.
The aroma is mild and almost non-existent. It’s almost like you’re tasting a chocolate mould. However, when you start to taste it all you can taste is the chocolate and then the lime starts to go through the gears, you’ll be thinking more and more of the lime and the chilli kicks in at the back of your mouth and that flavour becomes more dominant.
The Montezuma’s Milk Chocolate With Chilli And Lime may not be as sophisticated as the NewTree Sexy Ginger Dark Chocolate, but would you rather go home with someone that can talk the talk, or walk the walk? Both are delightful in their own right, but both equally have different purposes. This bar from Montezuma’s is a more complex character, it’ll get you intoxicated give you want you want.
Rating:
Taste: 91% – purely for the balance of the flavours and how they work well together.
Texture: 80% – I’m not the biggest fan of the texture of milk chocolate, but this is just about right.
Price: 70% – The Brazilian Dark Chocolate With Peppermint is only 94p and this Montezuma’s is twice the price and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it in a similar ratio
Overall: 80.33%
If this Montezuma’s Milk Chocolate With Chilli And Lime was a song it would be: Intoxicating – David Crowder Band
