In my reveiw of the Matcha Winter Selection I came accross the Masala Chai Salted Caramels but now I’ve actually got a whole box of sixteen of them.
For those that aren’t so keen on the strange, tea flavours offered by the other of the Matcha selection boxes but still wanted to try something that’s not commercial then these salted caramels may be the way to go? In that previous review the salted caramels were housed within a heart shaped dome, but these are different, they come in a wondefully detailed shape which I can’t actually describe, other than to say they do look like a flower.
Again the salted caramel is less than others I’ve reviewed but seem to be more flowery. The saltiness and sugariness of other salted caramels is greatly reduced here. Instead the flavour focuses on floury and citrus notes but is supported by some gorgetous spice tones. These coem from the caradamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and pepper which add a touch of heat to it – but not enough to put off those that lik mild flavours.
You can get a box of sixteen for £14.95 which is a very good price and worth considering if you’re at all stuck for a gift for anyone.
