Hotel Chocolat Fruit & Nut 50% Milk Chocolate Wreath

One of the reasons I was looking forward to coming home from my foreign adventure was the knowledge that I had some lovely Hotel Chocolat goodies awaiting my return. One of those was this fantastically original Fruit & Nut Milk Chocolate Wreath.

Now, they do these in this fruit & nut variety in milk chocolate, but also in dark chocolate and a cookies & caramel one that just sounds divine!!

When I first got it out of the main cardboard packaging I couldn’t believe how substantial it was. It’s a good 450g in weight so that should last one person a few days or a small island nation just the one day.

You’ll need a knife to cut it into pieces as its that thick. In places its getting close to 2cm thick and as I’m too lazy to go and get a knife I’m going to have to stop trying to break pieces off.

The flavour is delightful. It may not be as refined as their Purist range and there may be a good deal of fruit and nuts in their that the chocolate does have a hard fight to come through, but overall its the uniqueness of the Milk Chocolate Wreath that makes this a fantastic Christmas chocolate gift.

But this isn’t any ordinary fruit and nut bar. It’s got almonds, hazelnuts and pistachio nuts as well as cranberries and raisins.

Rating:

Taste: 70% – lovely with a nice balance of fruits and nuts that you don’t normally get to taste together in chocolate.

Texture: 70% – hard to break, but that’s no bad thing – it’ll prevent you from eating it all in one go.

Appearance: 90% – The packaging and form of the chocolate were exceptional.

Nutritional Information: 70% – its very clear, although there isn’t any GDA information

Price: 75% – at £15 it may seem a bit pricey. But its actually very good value for money!

Overall: 75% – absolutely loved it! I can’t wait for more of their Christmas chocolates!
