What can I say, other than “sensational”? Have I found the perfect chocolate bar? Well I think its chuffing close! This a 70% dark chocolate bar from the small Welsh chocolate company – Tipyn Bach and includes both cherries and almonds to give it a fantastically balanced flavour which includes the sweet taste of the fruit with the mild flavour of the almonds so well that I just can’t stop eating.
Now, its 250g which is a fairly hefty slab of chocolate and the price doesn’t come anywhere near being at a level that matches the quality and enjoyment you’ll get from it. At £2.95 I would say this is a good £1 cheaper than I would pay for it.
Because the cherries are quite sticky I wouldn’t go down the usual route of breaking off a piece with your hands and enjoying it. I’d opt for the more basic approach of just biting into it – its not like you’re going to share it with anyone!
The aroma of this cherry and almond dark chocolate bar is nothing special and doesn’t give an indication of the fantastic taste you’ll be enjoying shortly after you open it up.
I love this bar so much that I feel compelled to buy the other large chocolate bars they make: Milk Chocolate Bar with Cranberries, Blueberries and Hazelnuts and the White Chocolate Bar with Pineapple, Mango and Brazil Nuts.
Rating:
Taste: 95% – pure heaven. The flavours work fantastically well together.
Texture: 90% – the smooth chocolate, chewy cherries and crunchy almonds are absolutely fantastic when combined!
Price: 85% – very keenly priced and spending £8.85 on the three large chocolate bars does seem a very good idea.
Overall: 90% – delightful
