You can have too much of a good thing and to restore some sort of balance after the joys of reviewing some awesome chocolate I thought I’d run out these Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pop Tarts that I bought from Firebox and originated from America which I bought from Firebox but can also be bought from Amazon for £5.99 a box.
I think ‘I woz robbed’. I’m essentially paying £5.99 for a load of chemicals which is supposed to fuel me for a hard day. In fact after eating just the one I think I’ve had a salt overdose. Instead of the one cup of tea in the morning, I feel I need another couple to take the taste away.
The bread base is bland, dry and unappealing. Whist the centre is too sweet, too salty and just doesn’t taste all that much of chocolate or cookie dough. This is a real shame as I just love cookie dough ice cream and I had hoped that it’d taste fairly similar.
The problem is, that first thing in the morning I can imagine once in a while popping a couple of these in the toaster whilst I get ready and heading out with them if I was in a rush. You know peanut butter on toast gets stuff in it whilst you drive or waiting at a bus stop, these little things won’t attract any flotsam and jetsam during your commute. If I had a day working from home, however, I definitely know that if I did need a chocolate fix at breakfast I’d probably go for the Dorset chocolate cereal instead.
And just take a look at those ingredients. I feel dizzy just thinking about what I’ve just consumed!
