Now I just love this idea – you can a unique birthday or “I Love You” gift made out of chocolate! Isn’t that just perfect? Well the nice guys at ChocoMail sent me over their Chocotelegram 30 which is worth £17.50 to review – and I’m exceptionally glad they did!

I know Thorntons do their personalised chocolate truffles, but they’re not a patch on these. At ChocoMail you’ve got 18 choices, from the chocolate telegram being housed in a cardboard box with 7 letters available for £5.60 to the same with 60 spaces to be used. You can have them in a sexy wooden box with 10 letters to be used for £13.25 or you can go up to 48 characters for £25.50. If you wanted to spend a bit more you can try the deluxe version with 10 letters for £16.75 or if you wish to use 60 letters for £32.25.

This is what the box for the Chocotelegram 30 looks like. When I got the box I really didn’t expect it to come in a wooden box so I was very pleasantly surprised. What’s more, you can use it to keep things in afterwards! I wish the picture was a bit more exciting than I made it.

What I also love is that they’ve got a tool to create your message that is exceptionally easy to use. You simply choose the the number of letters and rows you want and what type of packaging. All you’ve got to do is type in the message or choose some of the little icons.

When you slide off the top wooden part you get a nice plastic top with some padding to stop your message being damaged in transit. And when you open it fully they’ll see the fantastic message you’ve created. Hopefully its something inspiring or romantic. The great guys at ChocoMail put this site’s domain name as the message. They don’t know me well enough to write a sexy or provocative message, but I’m sure you can come up with something fantastic!

Often with personalised chocolate it doesn’t taste all that great as I expect the chocolate is made to last. However, I was very impressed with this chocolate as it wasn’t overly sweet. It’s definitely a chocolate that would appeal to the masses.

Another great feature is that you there’s just something fantastic about demolishing the chocolate letters one by one and watching them disappear. If you wanted to be really clever, you could play a game that each person has to eat a letter then try and make new words up from those left over. That could be fun!

Rating:
Taste: 65% – nice & mild. Perfect for a personalised gift.
Texture: 65% – I tried them at room temperature and refrigerated and did prefer the refrigerated option as they were a bit harder.
Price: 65% – with the range of options you have, you’ll find something that fits your budget. If you wanted to spend less, then you’ve just got to think a bit harder to come up with a message.
Overall: 65%
