Charbonnel et Walker Pink Champagne Truffles
22 April 2009 in Champagne, Charbonnel et Walker, Chocolate Truffles, Rating 80%-84% by Lee
I was unsure about these Charbonnel et Walker Champagne Truffles from Chocolate Trading Co. when I ordered them as I thought how can 8 truffles be worth £9.50? Well my fears were unfounded as they were exceptional.
The packaging is delightful and puts across the fact that you’re going to enjoy some top quality pink Champagne Truffles. If people didn’t recognise the Charbonnel et Walker brand as one of the finest the chocolate world has to offer, then I’m sure they would do after they’ve tried one of the balls of delight.
You may only get the eight pink Champagne Truffles in each box, but that’s more than enough for the occasional piece of chocolate satisfaction. They’re actually bigger than the photo may show and you can get at least two bites out of them – I don’t recommend trying to eat one whole!
If you wish to smell the truffle before you eat it then it’s aroma may remind you of strawberry jam like it do for me. The coating is slightly crispy but it filled with an amazingly sweet truffle filling that subsides to fill your mouth with a great Champagne flavour.
I’m really struggling not to eat the whole box now. But I’ll try and save them for a glass of white wine and a good film this weekend. I’m not sure if the other half will get a go a them!
Overall they are an exceptional chocolate gift that would make a perfect Valentines Day present or a Christmas gift for a girlfriend or wife.
