In a number of countries “white chocolate” isn’t actually classed of chocolate as their isn’t actually any cocoa solids in it – only the milk and butter. The problem with this is that its typically “fattier” than dark chocolate.
The flavours are generally milder and less obtuse, however its often a great deal sweeter than other forms of chocolate and it seems to be very popular with children.
If the truth be told, white chocolate is my least favourite of all the types of chocolate. However, once in a while I come across chocolatiers that make really nice white chocolate. One of my current favourites at the moment is James Chocolates who do some very nice, flavoured white chocolate such as the Lemon Zest & Poppy Seed bar and the Strawberry & Black Pepper Bar . However, the large chocolate producers also do a very good job when it comes to making white chocolate. Thorntons have made a plain Fairtrade organic white chocolate bar which is pretty good. But most of you would have come across white chocolate in the form of the Cadbury’s Dream Bar or the Milky Bar.
Personally I like to leave white chocolate on the shelves – but it’s up to you what you like if you did like it then you can buy white chocolate in our chocolate shop.
