Fruition Chocolate 66% Dark Chocolate

There is something magnificent about micro-batch chocolate makers putting the effort in to create utterly delightful chocolate as this 66% bar. It may be a touch sweet, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Amma Chocolate 60%

A superb bar of bitter-sweet chocolate from an amazing company. The local environment is central to the manufacture of this bar and wonderful flavours very much in evidence.

Artisan du Chocolat Gingerbread Cookies White Chocolate

This Artisan du Chocolat Gingerbread Cookies White Chocolate is quite possibly my most favourite white chocolate bar of all time. I know its sweet, but unlike the others, there are various interesting flavours going on that seem to mitigate the sweetness.

L’Artisan du Chocolat O Magic Collection

This L'Artisan du Chocolat O Magic Collection was far below what I expected in terms of flavour and experience. However, there can be no criticism of the ingredients, its just that the flavours of the jam weren't allowed to take centre stage at all which is a shame as I expect them to be fantastic.

Mini Chocolate Pizzas

There is something strangely addictive about these gourmet chocolate pizzas. Not only do they taste great but they also look cute too. These ones come in a small 3.5 inch form where you get three for £10.

Devnaa Limited Edition Honey & Cardamom Fudge

Devnaa never fail to surprise me with how wonderful their chocolate is. The flavours are mild but sufficient to give you a clear, smooth taste that doesn't dominate your senses. They just produce fantastic Indian-inspired confectionery.

Say it with Brownies Cookies & Cream Brownie

These Cookies & Cream Brownie from Say it with Brownies are absolutely delicious. Of course they're incredibly rich and fairly sweet, but they have a tanginess which I found incredibly addictive. You'll also get a lot more than you think as you get twelve decent sized slices.

Make Your Own Chocolate House

This chocolate house making kit wasn't as great as I'd hoped. The chocolate wasn't great quality but it was still fin trying to put it all together. I don't think my house would resist anything but the slightest gust of wind but I still enjoyed the whole process.

Fudge Fancies Selection

These little treats from Fudge Fancies are good, but I much preferred their premium range of fudge treets as they had a much greater variety of flavours.

Butlers Almond & Orange Dark Chocolate

This review of the Butlers Almond & Orange Dark Chocolate was a guest review by Amanda who liked it, but thought it could have done with a deeper taste.

Sunshine & Butterflies Christmas Selection Box

For those of you who prefer chocolatiers to put some effort into what they produce - even before they get into their development kitchen then I implore you to try this Christmas selection from Sunshine & Butterflies as they were outstanding!

A housewife’s Review on Chocolat Bonnat Equateur

A housewife’s review on Chocolat Bonnat Equateur from Dawn Woodgate. Dawn is an amateur baker but a full time chocolate lover. I hope you enjoy her review!

Demarquette Araguani 72%

This Demarquette Araguani 72% just didn't do it for me, I found it uninteresting, a touch too brutish and without the variety of flavours one may have expected given the aroma.

The Grown Up Chocolate Company Crunchy Praline Wonder Bar

This Crunchy Praline Wonder Bar from The Grown Up Chocolate Company actually surprised me a great deal. It had some flavour but not an excessive amount of sweetness that made it very enjoyable.

Artisan du Chocolat Magic Wands

I can't remember having more fun with a chocolate Christmas gift than these. Combining the flavours as instructed really did produce the flavours that they said they would. They taste great on their own and even more so when you put them together.

The Chocolate Society Chocolate Covered Ginger

These are perfect for a chocolate and ginger lover at Christmas, there is some great crunch whilst the quality of the Valrhona chocolate certainly ads to the experience.

Dolceria Bonajuto 70% Dark Chocolate

This Dolceria Boajuto 70% Dark Chocolate is made using age old processes in Modica, Sicily and produces a sweet, rustic bar of chocolate - I just don't think it'll appeal to all.

Pralus 75% Vanuatu

This Pralus 75% Vanuatu dark chocolate was predominantly one that tasted of gingerbread with the occasional hint of orange. I loved that its from a different origin, but I'll have to try more from their before I make my mind up.

Domori Chuao

To call this Domori bar a Chuao chocolate bar is a disservice to the Venezuelan bar. I'd certainly not suggest that this is comparable to the Amedei bar.

Daintree Estates Dark Chocolate

Yes you can make chocolate in Australia, and damn good chocolate for that.It was very raw and under-ripe but was very interesting too.

Idilio Origins Finca Torres 72%

This bar is far from complicated or offering extravagant flavours, its just a very well excuted luscious bar of dark chocolate from one of the word's best cacao producing countries.

Mast Brothers Black Truffle Dark Chocolate Bar

Sometimes its worth going to the ends of the earth to find wonderful chocolate. Thankfully we have the internet so we don't have to. This black truffle and sea salt bar was just splendid!!

Amano Guayas 70%

I normally love what Amano do, they've created some fantastic bars in the past, but I just don't think this one reaches the heights of those previous bars.

Christmas at Santa’s House

These chocolate treats for children aren't cheap, but they're very enjoyable. The outer packaging is very engaging whilst the chocolates inside are wrapped perfectly for sharing or for keeping for yourself and enjoying as an occasional treat.

Divine Fairtrade Milk Chocolate Advent Calendar

The Divine milk chocolate advent calendar might taste a touch too sweet for me but I loved the message that it promotes - which is typically one missed at this time of year.

Hortons Chocolate Rum Cake

If you love rum cake then you really have to try the original from Horton's in Bermuda

Chocolaterie Mussy Origine Pérou 75%

Single origin fine chocolate should have bags of flavour, it should take you on a merry dance, it should surprise you and excite you. This bar didn't. The flavour was almost anonymous!

Demarquette Festive Caramels

For those of you who would like to give some fine chocolates at Christmas with a seasonal tone but don't want to go down the route of giving something that is overtly Christmasy then you should really consider these caramels from Marc Demarquette.

Montezuma’s Peanut Butter Truffles

I wasn't supposed to like these. As they're made with peanut butter they should have tasted too salty and overpowered the chocolate, but thankfully they didn't.

Chococo Christmas Crackle Tree

If you think deeply about this Christmas chocolate Christmas tree then you'll see how they've managed to combine so many different elements that should be appreciated: flavour, appearance and frivolity.

Lindt Chocolate Bear

Who loves Lindt chocolate? There'll certainly be a good number of people reading this blog that have bought and appreciated at least one of the Lindt golden chocolate figures. And there's a reason for it, despite being mass-produced they're not all that bad.

Hotel Chocolat Mince Pies

I really can't say that these chocolate mince pies from Hotel Chocolat are worth the money seeing as they're £7.50 for just 95g and they don't even taste all that spectacular. I do believe, however, that they do have far more suitable chocolate treats for Christmas if that's what you're looking for.

Chilli Con Choccy Hot Chocolate

If its cold, you've got a headache or just generally stressed then reach for the Jaz and Juls hot chocolate to blow away that dark cloud hanging over you. This stuff is hot and spicy, but very enjoyable.

Montezuma’s Dark Chocolate Advent Calendar

Purely because there are so few dark chocolate advent calendars to choose from this has to be the best. One day I'd love fine chocolate makers to offer advent calendars, but I don't think we'll see that day any time soon.

Jean-Paul Hévin Caramel Milk Chocolate Drops

These Jean-Paul Hévin Caramel Milk Chocolate Drops were far too sweet for my own taste. The dark chocolate ones were very nice, but these a bit rich.

Demarquette Royal Merina Ganaches

There can be few more memorable chocolate experiences this year than these sublime dark chocolate ganaches from Marc Demarquette. The flavours roll around, but aren't too dark. They're rich, creamy and elegant.

Prestat Praline Chocolate Truffles

Truffles are the staple of so many chocolate companies, but they're so often not given the love and attention that they should be. These come across as nothing special to be honest, even though they do well at not coming across as too intense, they just don't have enough flavour to really get me excited about them.

Mrs Crimble’s Large Chocolate Macaroons

Do you wish for a chocolaty treat that's also gluten free and bored of just having dark chocolate? Well here's an alternative. I know they have a lot of saturated fat and sugar in, but you only live once.

Pralus Caracas 75%

I've got to say that this Pralus Caracas 75% isn't anywhere near as good as their previous bars. It uses Venezuelan cacao along with some from Ghana - which I don't think does it any credit.

Chocolats Mussy Selection Box

Highly polished chocolate seems to be all the rage these days. But I much prefer the rustic, truly artistic bon bons that non-commercialised chocolatiers produced.

Hugo & Victor 6 Semi Spheres

Some times its nice not knowing what you're buying. Even though I still think I would have chosen these, the wonderful Autumnal flavours were just devine. I didn't quite get the strawberry one, but the others were fantastic.

Rabot Estate 65% 120 Conch

It's always nice to try something different, but despite being noticeably milder than the shorter conch version, I still found this a touch one dimensional.

William Curley Chilli Dark Chocolate Bar

Without wanting to be hyper-critical, I just thought there was actually no chilli flavour in this bar at all. It could have been a very mild, and possibly, boring bar of dark chocolate.

Michel Cluizel Maralumi 64%

Michel Cluizel seem to always make fantastic chocolate, but we can't expect every bar to be an example of perfection. This bar is just too sweet for my liking and seems to be significantly more so than any of their bars which have a slighly higher concentration of cocoa.

Rococo Lavendar Dark Chocolate Bar

I had hoped for some farily intense, interesting chocolate, but alas no. But I shouldn't expect all the chocolate I try to be full of flavour. Sublte is good some times.

Organic Milk Chocolate Pumpkins

We all love good value for money when we're buying chocolate treats, and Halloween shouldn't be any different. If you're buying these chocolate pumpkins in the gift hamper they're not too bad value for money. But on their own I'd say they're not worth the money.

Amedei Toscano Black 66%

In terms of the execution, this bar is fantastic. Did find it fairly mild, but fragrant. It would be one of my favourites and I'd certainly not refuse it in the future.

Valrhona Abinao 85%

This bar is a blend of African cacao but doesn't seem to offer any mellow, caramel flavour that one might expect, instead its has a sharp plum flavour and really not much else.

Yeast Beast From Montezumas

If you wanted to surprise someone with some unusual truffles then look no-further than these. The good thing is that people who really don't like Marmite won't find them too strong - so you won't get into too much trouble!

Green & Blacks Breakthrough Breast Cancer Bar

If you're a fruit and nut fan then why not give this one a go from Green & Blacks which supports the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. It's actually very addictive and I'm sure would be hugely appreciated.
