Åkesson’s

Åkesson’s owns plantations in Madagasca and Brazil and was launched to supply chocolate and exotic foods which show how pepper can enhance its flavour. Their address is Baarerstrasse 8, 6300 Zug – Switzerland and can be contacted on +33 (0) 6 08 60 13 60 and their website can be found here.

They offer some single plantation chocolate using the three main types of cacao, criollo, forastero and trinitario (but those classifications are open to debate) – this selection includes:

  • 75% Criollo Cocoa, Ambolikapiky Plantation from Madagascar
  • 75 % Forastero Cocoa & 75 % Chocolate + Coffee Nibs Fazenda Monte Alegre from Brazil
  • 75% Trinitario Cocoa & 45% Milk Chocolate + Fleur De Sel, Sukrama Farms from Bali
75% Dark Chocolate Åkesson's Bean To Bar Criollo GMO Free Madagascar Organic Rating 85%-89%

This bar offers a sweet and sour experience with the balance of saltiness and red fruits. Although it’s not perfect, it still does offer an immensely enjoyable experience.
