Amedei Chocolate Buying Guide

Amedei is based in the Tuscany region of Italy by the brother and sister team Alessio and Cecilia Tessieri only twenty years ago. In that time they've managed to create one of the most respected chocoalte brands in the industry - and all credit to them.

When considering which Amedei chocolate to buy it is worth understanding that there are some generalisms that often hold true. Their dark chocolate from Venezuela is more light than their other cocoa regions, it has spicy edge to it with hazelnut undertones. Their dark chocolate from Jamaica is the opposite in terms of character as it has a robust flavour, but still manages to bring a slightly spicy roundness to it. Whilst their dark chocolate from Ecuador is considerably more earthy, with the Grenada variety being more "chocolaty". Their Trinidad dark chocolate is more fruity and the dark chocolate from Madagascar dark chocolate having a more creamy tone.

Amedei Chuao

The Chuao cocoa been is exceptionally special. It has a pronounced perfumed aroma which gently releases an acidic, fruity flavour which is easily reconognised. Amedei use it in their Amedei Chuao chocolate bars along with cane sugar, cocoa butter and vanilla.

Amedei Porcelana

The Amedei Porcelana chocolate bars are more pure than the Chuao which obviously comes from the fact that the Porcelana cocoa bean is used which has completely different characteristics. Amedei Porcelana is definitely a luxury or gourmet chocolate bar that you should enjoy every single nibble. There is so much character to this chocolate that you'll be amazed when you try it.
