Michel Cluizel 1er Cru de Plantation Venezuela Conception

Those liked Michel Cluizel's 85% bar are very likely to find this one too sweet, but on the positive side, there are some very unusual flavours present.

Rózsavölgyi Csokolade Porcelana 71%

Although I loved the simplicity and clarity of this bar of chocolate by Rózsavölgyi Csokolade I still feel that sometimes Porcelana chocolate can still be a touch too mild. I do prefer chocolate to have a touch more character. But as something to relax with then you can't really fault it.

Patric Rio Caribe Superior

Despite being several months past its best, this Venezuelan bar of 70% chocolate does a great job. The flavours are varied but fairly mellow. The melt is exceptional given its age and the distance travelled. It'd certainly be one I'd recommend to my American friends.

Idilio Origins Selection Cata Ocumare

This Idiolio Origins Selection Cata Ocumare with Cocoa Nibs should have offered so much more, alas it came across as far too mild. I loved the texture and the aroma, it was just lacking in terms of flavour.

Demarquette Araguani 72%

This Demarquette Araguani 72% just didn't do it for me, I found it uninteresting, a touch too brutish and without the variety of flavours one may have expected given the aroma.

Domori Chuao

To call this Domori bar a Chuao chocolate bar is a disservice to the Venezuelan bar. I'd certainly not suggest that this is comparable to the Amedei bar.

Idilio Origins Finca Torres 72%

This bar is far from complicated or offering extravagant flavours, its just a very well excuted luscious bar of dark chocolate from one of the word's best cacao producing countries.

Pralus Caracas 75%

I've got to say that this Pralus Caracas 75% isn't anywhere near as good as their previous bars. It uses Venezuelan cacao along with some from Ghana - which I don't think does it any credit.

Montezuma’s Organic Halloween Hamper

Just a quick look at what you get in the organic Halloween chocolate hamper from Montezuma's.

Jeff de Bruges 43% Venezuelan

I'm not exactly sure what I expected from this bar. Milk chocolate is such a strange beast that it can so easily turn into a saccharine cloud hovering over you. This doesn't go that far, its very milky, which some people will enjoy, I'm just in two minds - unfortunately.

Betty’s Grand Cru Swiss 65%

This 65% dark chocolate from Betty's made with Felchlin couverture was sweet and bland. I just prefer dark chocolate to have bit more personality - it was lacking here.

Hotel Chocolat Chuao

When it comes to the Chuao I'm a bit of a purist. It just didn't taste like the others, or have the same feel. But I could just be wrong about it.

Soma Chocolate 70% Chuao

This Soma 70% dark chocolate bar is made out of cacao from the well-renowned village of Chuao in Venezuela. It's supposed to be produce some of the finest cacao in the world. That may be the case, but this wasn't the finest bar of chocolate.

Mast Brothers Chuao 81%

There used to be a time whne Chuao bars could only be found from a couple of chocolate makers, but more and more are getting in on the act. This one from Mast Brothers is a very interesting and unique version that most definitely should be tried.

Artisan du Chocolat Orchid & Orange Blossom Dark Chocolate

Although it didn't knock my socks off, it still was a very pleasant bar that I'd happily enjoy again. The flavours are subtle but you can't have robust chocolate all of the time.

Idilio Origins 74% Porcelana

I really don't know how people are going to get their hands on this bar. But try you must. Pack your bags, leave a note and head off to the continent. Your journey will be rewarded with some delightful chocolate.

Pierre Hermé Tablette Chocolat Noir Pure Origine Venezuela Porcelana

If you're looking for an intense bar of dark chocolate then give this Pierre Herme 70% Porcelana a miss as its subtle beyond belief. It may be fruity, but there's not much else going on.

Matcha Chocolat Mixed Selection Box

What a journey it has been for Katie with her wonderful Matcha Chocolat company. One year from inception she's created a much broader selection of ganaches that won't dissapoint.

Domori Porcelana 70% Dark Chocolate Bar

The Domori Porcelana 70% Dark Chocolate Bar is truly a wonderful bar of dark chocolate made with the Porcelana Criolllo cacao bean from Venezuela. It is delicious, but not very bitter or a wide range of notes.

Amano Ocumare 30% Milk Chocolate Bar

This Amano Ocumare 30% Milk Chocolate Bar is just no where near as good as its dark chocolate cousin. There's no real chocolate taste and too much of saccharine to be anywhere near as good as the Amano reputation which preceeds it!

Bonnat Hacienda El Rosario Dark Chocolate Bar Review

I'm glad that Michelle thought the same as me about this Bonnat Hacienda El Rosario Dark Chocolate Bar - its not all that great!

Pralus Chuao 75%

This Pralus Chauo Bar is the best dark bar I've ever tasted - and should be tried if you ever get the chance.

Chocolate Trading Co. Venezuela Noir, 72% Single Origin Dark Chcoolate Bar

This is a fantastic bar of 72% dark chocolate, slightly sweet and buttery - its not for the purist dark chocolate connoisseur.

Pierre Hermé Chuao 70% Dark Chocolate

This Pierre Hermé Chuao 70% Dark Chocolate is an exceptional bar of dark chocolate and should be tried if you get the chance.

Amano Chuao 70% Dark Chocolate Bar

The Amano Chuao 70% is a very intense, fruity, but yet dry dark chocolate bar. It won't be desired by everyone. But still, its a landmark in chocolate making!

Amano Ocumare 70% Dark Chocolate

The Amano Ocumare 70% Dark Chocolate is quite possibly the finest bar of chocolate I've ever reviewed.

T’a Pepe Giapponese 66% Dark Chocolate

This T'a Pepe Giapponese 66% Dark Chocolate is dusky and slight on character. But its a good start.

Beschle Carenero Superior 70% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Bar

Beschle Carenero Superior 70% Cocoa Bar of Dark Chocolate is superb. You simply have to try it!

El Rey Chocolate

El Rey hasn't set my world alight to be honest, but others absolutely love what they do.

Valrhona 64% Dark Chocolate Plantation Palmira

Valrhona has a very good name when it comes to chocolate, but some have started to wonder if the lustre of the brand has started to dim - I'm not sure sure after reviewing this bar.

Californian Fruit & Nut Bar

What a wonderful bar of chocolate this Californian Fruit & Nut Bar from My Chocolate Bar is. Delicious!

Domori Rio Caribe 70% Dark Chocolate

This Caribe 70% Dark Chocolate bar isn't my favourite from Domori but it still has an edge on many other dark chocolate bars.
