I just loved these as a kid, almost as much as the Yorkie bar, but there were way up there on the top of my “must buy when I’ve got 20p” list. And I thought it’d be nice to revisit it and see if its as good as I remember it being.
They may have gone up in price now, but they’re still fairly good value at 44p – this is the price at Tesco and Sainsbury, Asda sell them for 48p or 3 for £1 until 8th September (compare prices here)
The beautiful thing about a Cadbury Crunchie bar is that it doesn’t profess to be anything other than it is. It’s a functional bar. It’s a chocolate bar that is exceptionally sweet, gets stuck in your teeth and may give you a sugar rush – but we love it.
Most of the sweetness, of course, comes from the honeycomb in the centre. The milk chocolate seems to be their standard fair, however the honeycomb centre is where all the action is.
I can’t get as excited about it as I might about it as I did with, say the, NewTree Sexy Ginger Dark Chocolate, but it still worth revisiting it if you haven’t tried it in a while.
If you’re looking for a Cadbury Crunchie Share gift box for an absolute Crunchie fan then you could try Chocolate Buttons who also do a bumper box of 48 Cadbury Crunchies – wowsers!
