The nice people at Sanza sent me this Cadbury Cherry Ripe Chocolate Bar to review and as I’ve been a big fan of their site for years I couldn’t refuse.
At first I thought the Cadbury Cherry Ripe would be way too sweet for my taste, but I was immensely impressed by it. It was out of this world! The Cherry Ripe is a combination of both coconut and cherry flavours that you may not think would go well together, but they complement each other on so many levels. It’s sweet with a nice coconut under-flavour which also gives it a crunchy edge to the smooth chocolate texture.
If you read some of the reviews on their website you’ll see that others completely agree with me. If you’ve never tried one and you either love coconut or cherry flavoured chocolate then give it a go. I just adored the coconut chocolate bar from Sainsbury’s, but this is a different type of “lush” (as some people would describe it). It’s not so much as a dark night of indulgence, but a bright sunshine day of happiness – you have to buy one.
The price may be a bit steep at £1.45, but would you rather buy yourself some guaranteed happiness or spend the money on a Euro lottery ticket that you’ll probably never win with either.
Rating:
Taste: 90% – perfectly balanced. Not “fine” chocolate, but it tasted more than fine to me
Texture: 80% – nice coconuty texture without being over the top
Price: 60% – it is imported though and there’ll be tax, duty, shipping and everything else for Sanza to pay I expect, but still well worth the money!
Overall: 76.66% – if you haven’t tried it, you don’t know what you’re missing!
