These Booja Booja Organic Cognac Flambed Banana Truffles are another load of chocolates that I bought from Chocolate Trading Co and I had high hopes for them, not least because I absolutely loved the Booja Booja Around Midnight Espresso Truffles I reviewed on my Easter eggs site. However, I must confess, they’re no where near as nice.
To be honest I can’t fault the packaging, it does fully represent what you’ll get in side. But it does slightly remind me of the boxes of Turkish Delight you’ll find in a bazaar in the country of the same name.
As soon as you open the box up you’ll notice some gorgeous looking organic truffles. This will be quickly followed by a very powerful cognac aroma that may knock you to the ground. It would be unfair to call it pungent, but it is strong. But that doesn’t take anything away from how delightful they look.
My first recollection of these Booja Booja Organic Cognac Flambed Banana Truffles was that I didn’t like them. But on this second run past them a couple of days later they’re much smoother than I first remembered. The Cognac flavour isn’t anywhere near as overpowering as you may have thought from the aroma and the banana flavour catches the end of the taste-sensation and it quite welcome. Overall, if you wanted to buy someone special some chocolate for Christmas or a birthday then I’d recommend these Booja Booja Organic Cognac Flambed Banana Truffles as a good place to start as they’re only £4.95.
