I’ve reviewed the Ritter Sport Whole Hazelnut chocolate bar which wasn’t too bad for 80p. So I thought I thought I’d add 20p to it and get some “extra special” organic milk chocolate with whole toasted almonds from Asda.
And boy was I disappointed. It was supposed to be extra special but it was just boring. The packaging may have looked nice, but after that it was down-hill. There was no imagination with the mold for the chocolate – it was just like the cheapest Swiss chocolate.
Another thing is that with the chocolate bar being so thin that the quite often you’re having a mouthful of almond with chocolate rather than chocolate with almonds in. This bar is bland beyond belief.
When you consider that the chocolate bar is essentially 39.4% fat, and 16.9% saturated fat, then there’s so many other milk chocolate bars to spend your calories on and Hotel Chocolat is a good place to start.
If you don’t mind, I’ll just give this bar a score of 30% and put the rest of it in the bin! I’ve got some more lovely truffles from My Chocolate Bar to review so I’ll get on with those!
