Amedei Porcelana 70% Dark Chocolate Bar

What can I say? This Amedei Porcelana 70% Dark Chocolate Bar won an award for being the best chocolate by Chocolate Trading Company in 2004 and its understandable why. It is truly amazing.

The packaging shows that this dark chocolate bar will be a work of art and I’m sure it won’t disappoint any true chocolate lover. The highly desirable Porcelana cocoa been has been used to make this bar of chocolate. And as with many single origin chocolate bars, the flavours are nicely balanced with slight nutty undertones.

The issue we have is that as the Procelana cocoa bean is in short supply they can only produce very small quantities of Amedei Porcelana chocolate bars. In fact, this bar is number 701 out of 20,000 they’re making and I feel very privileged to be able to try one. What makes it even more special, however, is that its not only Single Origin, but also Single variety – you won’t get many chocolate bars that can claim to be as highly prized as this bar.

I really can’t speak high enough about it, it really is a fantastic chocolate bar. There is one downside – the price. Because this is a limited edition chocolate bar and they’re trying to protect the cocoa bean species then the price is very hight. If I told you that its £7 a bar, I’m sure you would eat it a little slower!

Taste: 90% – almost perfect, smooth, deep, delightful
Texture: 90% – crisp and finally refined
Price: 50% – expensive, but worth it.
