Alcohol Free Truffles

I bought these Alcohol Free Truffles, unsurprisingly from a shop called Alcohol Free as they were on sale and I thought I’d grab a bargain. But don’t they look fantastic? I’m not sure how much the box and the ribbon cost, but I’d think you’d be getting great value with the truffles included as well.

In the beautiful box was a selection of truffles: Traditional Extra Dark, Strawberry and Cream, Raspberry, Dark Stem Ginger, Maple Pecan and Almond Praline which all sound fantastic and form a very eclectic collection of truffles.

The first I had was Strawberry & Cream and the flavours were beautifully soft, fruity with a texture was wonderfully light with the odd fruity bite to it. I really did like this one as it reminded me of my Cornish holidays as child. (I wish it was summer!)

Next I had the Traditional Dark Chocolate which was had a very rich creamy texture with a very appealing woody dark chocolate flavour. I could have quite a few of these and not feel I’ve had enough!

The Maple Pecan truffle was out of this world – very sweet, a strong pecan flavour and deliciously soft! I want more!

But then I had the dark stem ginger truffle. Ooooh I liked that one! As you can see, there’s huge chunks of ginger and I just love ginger. This was a great one to warm the cold wimter nights. The flavours were strong and encased in a very soft truffle mix. Awesome!

The Almond Praline was very nutty (of course) and featured a surprisingly crispy truffle centre. It was much like Ferrero Rocher – but substantially more delicious!

And, oh, the Raspberry truffle was a wonderfully fruity foil for the other more intense truffles. This is a brialliant one to leave until last as its incredibly uplifting and cleanses the pallet.

Overall I wasn’t sure what I was going to get as they were reduced on teh Alcohol Free website. But for £4.04 for the six truffles they’d make a great Valentines Day chocolate gift for a pregnant wife, girlfriend or someone that just doesn’t like alcohol.
