Fathers Day Chocolate Gifts - Great Gift Bags And Surprises

I got this Father's Day Chocolate Gift Bag from Hotel Chocolat and for what you get, its well worth the £15 as you get an awesome "Old Fossil" chocolate in a mock-up picture frame, a bar of single estate 62% cocoa mil chocolate bar from the Rabot Estate in St. Lucia and a Fruit and nut dark chocolate bar.

I just love the gift bag, its exquisite and worth £2/£3 in itself. There's a little label and envelope too so if you're not around for Father's Day then you can leave it somewhere and hope that he doesn't open it. The beauty with buying one of these for Fathers' Day is that you don't have to worry about wrapping anything, its all done for you, apart from writing the label.

My favourite part of this Hotel Chocolate Father's Day gift bag is the Old Fossil Picture Frame, its an awesome idea and definitely tastes of that honey flavour I find with so many of their milk chocolate creations. I just love it. Individually this would cost £7 and at that price its still worth it!

The Purist Single Estate Milk Chocolate bar has the definite wow factor. It's still got a slight honey flavour but it picks up some tangy notes that I just can't place. If you're unsure if you like dark chocolate, this may be a good place to start as its almost dark chocolate, but not quite and not as bitter by any stretch of the imagination. These Purist bars are around the £4.50 mark and I'd stay that's a good price as there's not as much sugar in it and its a chocolate bar that you'll not notice yourself finishing off.

The other piece of chocolate in the box is the Fruit & Nut bar which has raisins, cranberries, hazelnuts and almonds all within the dark chocolate mix. And it wasn't how I thought it'd taste. For me there was a definite Christmas flavour to it, which was a bit strange, but totally enjoyable. It was very crunchy and had a well-balanced flavour. I'll be keeping what's left of this and not letting anyone else find it!!

Rating:
Taste: 80% - across the three I liked the Fruit & Nut the most but the Old Fossil was a great light milk chocolate gift and should not be missed.
Texture: 70% - these chocolates are more focused on the gift factor rather than being a connoisseur chocolate, but saying that, they were up to the high standard that we'd expect from Hotel Chocolat.
Price: 70% - I would say that £15 is about right for a Father's day gift, although they do one for £25, if you wanted to pay more.
Overall: 63.33% - a great gift for Father's Day

If the Hotel Chocolate Fathers Day Chocolate Gift Bag was a song it would be: "Daddy Is A Stupid Head" - Anon
